2021 IN REVIEW: ACTIVITY REPORT
OPEN PROGRAMME
Leading into the Future
Date Participants
5 - 7 October 2021 25 (Grade 48 to JUSA C)
The best way to predict the future is to create it”. This advice may
appear simple, yet it remains a tall order for many organisations.
Whilst there is no one size fits all formula, the trends are pointing
towards people-related skills-set. A good understanding of
people, which includes communication and their emotions,
could help one in leading more effectively at work. RSOG’s
Open Programme “Leading Into The Future” comprised of a
case study discussion, interaction session relating to intentional
communication, and an experience sharing session. The
programme created a networking opportunity in addition to
learning.

Reimagining Futures
Date Participants
Cohort 1: 4 5 August 2021 200 (Grade 41 to JUSA C)
Cohort 2: 11 – 12 August 2021
The Razak School of Government (RSOG) and Public Service
Department (JPA) collaborated to organise a virtual programme
“Reimagining Futures”. The term Foresighting (also known as
Futures Thinking or Futurology) is an interdisciplinary field that
studies the future through scenario planning and other tools
to generate several plausible scenarios. During the sessions,
participants were provided with strategies and decision-
making tools mapped against various identified futures. Given
the current volatility of the pandemic and its side effects, the
urgency in creating different scenarios is essential in allowing for
a more prepared Malaysia. Facilitating the overall Reimagining
Futures course, was Dr Sohail Inayatullah, a political scientist
and futurist, and inaugural UNESCO Chair in Futures Studies.
